Weather ruins fixture list again
SPORTS fixtures have been called off throughout Berwickshire and north Northumberland for the second week running.
A switch of venue means Eyemouth Amateurs v Coldstream Amateurs in the Waddell Cup goes ahead at Warner Park, with a 1.30pm kick-off.
However, nearly all other football and rugby matches have been postponed.
Berwick Rangers v Stirling Albion was called off this morning following a pitch inspection at Shielfield.
In the East of Scotland League, Duns v Coldstream and Eyemouth United v Craigroyston have also been postponed. Only three East of Scotland matches have survived, two of them all-Edinburgh clashes in the Premier Division. Burntisland Shipyard v Leith Athletic is also on.
West Barns Star v Newtown and Eyemouth Amateurs v Coldstream Amateurs are the only Border Amateur games to go ahead.
Tweedmouth Juniors travel to Edinburgh to face Leith Athletic in an under-19 match that has survived, but the Lowick Ladies match tomorrow is also off.
In rugby’s East League Division 1, Livingston v Berwick and Duns v Dunbar are both off, as are the fixtures nvolving Berwick Colts and Berwick 2nds.
