Saturday was cup day with the second round ties in the South of Scotland Amateur Cup due to be played.

However, the weather forced the postponement of the majority of the games although the games played resulted in a lot of goals!

Chirnisde United went on the rampage against fellow Borders side Melrose winning 10-1. Alan Jess and Graeme ‘Jocky’ Turner each grabbed a hat-trick, Daniel Romanes scored two and Chris Young and Graham Kelly also found the net.

West Barns ran out convincing 4-1 winners away to Hawick United while Jed Legion lost 1-0 to Edinburgh United Alba.

Duns Reserves had already set off for their match against Forth Community when the game was called off very late in the day.
