Rangers bring Gielty back from continent

BERWICK Rangers have received international clearance to sign midfielder Damian Gielty from Luxembourg side FC Avenir Beggen.

The 28 year-old, cousin of Manchester United’s Darren Fletcher, had been playing in the Duchy since moving there to work as a sports teacher in the International School.

Gielty previously won two promotions with Newtongrange Star FC, which led to him being capped by the Scotland junior side in 2010.

Rangers have also bolstered their midfield with the signing of Craig Stevenson from Lothian Thistle, who goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s game with Queen’s Park.
