Berwick Rangers’ chairman, Brian Porteous, has paid tribute for club director and main sponsor Jeff Burnlees who died suddenly at the weekend.
Mr Burnlees, who sponsored the club through his company JB Site Investigations, died on Friday after suffering from a heart failure.
Porteous said news of his death had shocked everyone at the club, and condolences were sent to Mr Burnlees’ family.
Players, officials and fans held a minute’s silence before Saturday’s game against Queen’s Park.
The funeral is due to be held this Saturday (February 15) and as a result the kick-off for the home game against Elgin has been put back by an hour to 4pm.
A club official said this was with the blessing of both Elgin and the SFL and thanks go to them for their co-operation.
