Duns were ripped apart by a rampant Dunbar in East League Division 1.

Dunbar started very strongly and took the lead with a Jamie Peters penalty after four minutes.

Duns had an opportunity to level but their penalty kick went wide.

Dunbar flanker Simon Crinall pounced on the ball and dived over for the opening try of the match after a surge from the home pack. Peters made it 10-0 with the conversion.

Duns came back strong and were awarded a scrum on the Dunbar 22. With the scrum wheeling, the referee awarded the penalty to Duns. A quick tap surprised the home side and the visitors touched down for an opportunist try which was converted on 27 minutes.

Dunbar replied when by John Peebles fed Beveridge, who stormed over from the ten metre line. Peters extended the lead to 17-7.

Peebles then rounded the defence to score, with Peters again converting on 34 minutes to give the home side a 24-7 lead at the interval.

When Dunbar turned the ball over at a ruck early in the second half, the ball was spread wide to Beveridge, who scored his second try under the posts. Peters converted.

Home centre Sandy Thomson scored under the posts on 61 minutes. Peters added the conversion to extend the lead to 38-7.

As Dunbar made wave after wave of attack, Ally Brown scored out wide, with Peters converting again. Gary peebles burst through to score on 69 minutes and then added his second try four minutes later. Both were converted by Peters.

With five minutes remaining Ally Brown scored another great try down the right with Peters again successful with the boot.
