BERWICK manager Jimmy Crease says that ‘the door is not closed’ completely on goalkeeper Mark Peat or last year’s leading scorer Darren Gribben.
Both were offered new contracts by Rangers during the close season.
Peat rejected the offer, whilst Gribben, who has been training with Hamilton, has not officially contacted the club to say what his intentions are.
“I’m not going to rule either of them out completely,” said Crease.
“Mark rejected our offer but has not signed for anyone else yet. If we can’t get anyone else then he might be a possibility.
“Darren hasn’t formally rejected the offer, but is in training with Hamilton, and we have told him that if he doesn’t win a place there before we have signed up a couple of other strikers, we will be happy to have him back.
“Darren scored 17 goals for us last season. I have always said that he can offer the team something different, but if we sign a couple of strikers before he makes his mind up, then because of the budget we are operating here at Berwick, we would have to go without him.”
