BGH staff deserve better

SIR, - Having just read an article in a national newspaper, I feel I must put pen to paper.

In said article it was stated that NHS Borders nursing staff were offered what can only be classed as an insulting and derisory offer, i.e an extra 15 minutes teabreak in recognition of their sterling efforts through the recent prolonged spell of inclement weather.

As one, who has many times required their help, may I suggest that the supposed management get the proverbial finger out of proverbial orifice and, if they want to reward effort, then do so in a more meaningful fashion.

Many thanks to frontline staff.

ROBERT KENNEDY,

Duns Road, Coldstream.
