Witnesses to crash sought

Police in the Borders are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision on the A1107 Eyemouth to Coldingham at Eastlaw Cottages.

The collision occurred at around 7.10pm on Tuesday, September 22.

A blue BMW 116 driving northbound left the road and collided with a building adjacent to the southbound carriageway.

The BMW was then struck by a grey Mini Cooper travelling southbound.

A 26-year-old man, who was passenger in the BMW, was taken by helicopter to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

A 22-year-old man, who was driving the BMW, was taken by ambulance to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with minor injuries.

The road was reopened at around 3am on Wednesday, September 23.

Sgt Keith Denholm of Road Policing said: “We’re eager to establish the full circumstances surrounding this collision and would ask any witnesses to the collision, or anyone who saw the vehicles involved shortly beforehand, to get in touch.”
