Whitsome energy plant appeal

Planning permission for an anaerobic digestion sustainable energy plant at Ravelaw Farm, Whitsome, was refused because of the unacceptable impact it would have on nearby residents.

Applicants, Ivor Gaston & Son, have now lodged an appeal, arguing that: there is no significant visual impact; no unacceptable impact on residential amenity; it will support sustainable economic development; and is smaller than a similar plant approved elsewhere by the council.
