Police are appealing for witnesses following a disturbance in Eyemouth’s Chapel Street on Saturday, July 16, around 9.30pm.

Two men were involved in a disturbance with a group of men. A 56-year-old man was assaulted, and a 23-year-old was thrown against a window of a Chinese takeaway, suffering significant injuries and causing significant damage to the window.

PC Gordon Anderson, of Eyemouth Police Station, said: “The group would’ve caused a lot of noise so it’s likely this would’ve attracted attention from people nearby.

“We’re unsure how many men were involved.”
