Eyemouth has officially entered the festive period, heralded by a visit from Santa to his Kirk Squares grotto.

Last Thursday, Kirk Square was turned into a winter wonderland, although the switching-on of the Christmas lights had to be postponed until the following Sundaybecause of an issue with the town Christmas tree.

Children gathered to take their turn in telling Santa what they hoped for at Christmas, and the town’s shops ensured they were full of Christmas spirit for a late-night shopping extravaganza.
