The family of the late Roy Oliver donated a beautiful trophy crafted by William Young to be presented at the summer exhibition of the Berwickshire Art Society.

The committee deemed that as Roy had been an art teacher at Berwickshire High School the trophy should be given for a piece of art work done by a school child.

This year’s winner was Ted Stewart a Primary 1 pupil from Duns Primary School.

He was presented with his prize by Lorraine Tait Chairperson of the Art Society.

His winning picture was entitled ‘In the light of the moon’ which was inspired after his class had read The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Well done Ted a notable start to your art career.
