A feast for the eyes and palate is on offer at the St Abbs Christmas Market - a two day shopping event this Friday and Saturday, November 15/16.
Great quality local produce and crafts, unlike anything on the high street, will be on display at the St Abbs Visitor Centre stalls: local fresh produce such as cakes, quiches, handmade Belgian chocolate, unusual jams, chutneys, local flavoured oils, sea salts and spices, fresh fish and seafood, local vegetables & artisan traditional charcuterie
And to make your life that little bit easier many of the stallholders will take orders for the festive period !
One of the organiser, Rachel Hammond, from Eyemouth, spells out the temptations on offer: “Local wool, hand-spun for you by Jennie of Sky Blue Pink, to knit yourself make presents or save the time and buy something already hand-knitted.
“Find gluten-free Christmas cakes made by Makes Bakes and Cakes, locally-made traditional sausages and bacon, and gluten free and smoked game. Buy the best Eyemouth fresh fish from Waddells, with an opportunity to order superb local wild oak-smoked salmon in time for Christmas.
“Indulge and browse among the jewellery and fashionable bags and accessories, carefully chosen by SuSa. Other present ideas are eco-soy candles in beautiful retro and elegant antique china, scented with the finest essential oils,
“Come along and learn craft tips to make your own Christmas coasters and decorations to take home.
“Get delicious recipes and cooking tips and friendly advice from our food producers. and enter our free competition to win a fabulous festive hamper full of goodies supplied by of our stalls. There wiill be many free samples and tasters to enjoy as well as fine mince pies, mulled wine and local mulled cider.
The St Abbs Christmas Market is open: Friday, November 15, from 10am to 8pm, and Saturday, November 16, from 10am until 3pm.
