A SERIES of free Olympic sports sessions will be available at leisure centres across Northumberland this week, including Berwick, to mark the arrival of the Olympic Torch in the UK.
Taster sessions will be available in a wide range of sports including archery, boccia, diving, judo, synchronised swimming, taekwondo and volleyball.
Northumberland County Council has joined forces with sports centres, clubs and societies to develop the programme called ‘Give it a Go’.
It is open to all ages and will run for five weeks over the summer. This week’s event marks the arrival of the Olympic torch in the UK.
The programme has been developed to bring the London 2012 Olympic Games closer to communities and encourage people to become more active.
