Ahead of Book Week Scotland, a celebration of reading being held between November 24-30, Borders book lovers are being encouraged to show their true feelings towards their local libraries.

Readers are encouraged to send a letter to their favourite library. It should be heartfelt, explaining why this particular library is so important.

Margaret Menzies, Scottish Borders Library & Information Services Manager, said: “There have been a number of changes in our libraries over the last few years, but one thing that hasn’t changed is the hope that they provide make a positive difference, however small, to our users. We know people use libraries for a host of different reasons but we don’t always know we’ve made a difference.”
