Selina is crowned Chirnside Gala Queen

Selina Eaton was crowned the 2013 Chirnside Civic Week Queen at a colourful ceremony in Windram Park on Sunday.

The sun shone for the occasion as villagers turned out in force for the festivities.

Civic Week got underway on Saturday with a torchlight parade in Windram Park followed by a Fireworks Display in the Common Good Park.

Sunday’s festivities kicked-off with the traditional Kirkin o’ The Queen in Chirnside Parish Church followed by the ‘Toasting’ in Robin’s Nest.

The grand parade made its way through the village before arriving at Windram Park for Selina’s crowning ceremony.

Selina’s court was as follows: Gala Queen - Selina Eaton; Consort - Musa Buddin; Herald - Ben Langley; Crown-bearer - Ryan Kerr; Attendants - Rebecca Payne and Hannah Wilkes; Fairy Queen - Charley Simpson; Fairy Queen’s Consort - Ally Robertson.

Flower girls and boys: P6 - Caitlin Black and Robert Cummings; P5 - Charlie Robertson and Ibrahim Buddin; P4 - Rose Easton and Archie Langley; P3 - Robyn Little and Nathan Black; P2 - Ellen Brown and William Wilkes; P1 - Thea Laidlaw and Dylan Muir.

There were loads of fun activities at the Gala Day in the Park with the judging of the fancy dress competition and an appearance by children’s entertainer Gladys Chucklebutty.
