Charities and voluntary organisations across the Borders will get the chance to find out “How to do things differently” at a roadshow event from the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO).
SCVO and the Borders Third Sector Partnership are jointly hosting the event at Tweed Horizons in Newtown St Boswells on Monday, September 5.
Local groups will have an opportunity to learn more about funding their organisation, accessing internships and about a new legal form for community groups looking to become charities.
Paul White, director of networks at SCVO encouraged local groups to join the event. He said: “With a new Scottish Government, public spending cuts and greater demand for our services, we’re working in a time of change, challenge and opportunity. For the third sector – charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises – times are tough but there’s a lot we can achieve together. Why not come along and find out how to help your organisations survive and thrive?”
To register for the roadshow visit www.scvo.org.uk and fill in the online booking form or call the SCVO events team on 0141 559 5019. Booking closes on August 29.
