Scottish Water spend £12m in the Borders

The £12 million of investment Scottish Water has made in the Borders is being marked at a community event in Innerleithen today (Thursday).

At the event, Scottish Water will be giving a presentation on recent projects to improve water and the waste water infrastructure across the region.

According to Scottish Water significant refurbishment works has been done to water mains in and around Duns, Coldstream and Eyemouth; and Birgham and Swinton have benefited from improvements to the waste water infrastructure.

Major projects in the Borders have included: a new £1.8 million water treatment works to serve Innerleithen, Walkerburn and Cardrona; a £1.5 million refurbishment of the water treatment works at Howden; £3 million refurbishment of water water treatment works at both Hawick and Galashiels; and £1.7 million improvements to the waste water infrastructure at Cardrona.
