On December 6, scientists travelled from far and wide to St Abbs Visitor Centre for the inaugural meeting of the St Abbs and Eyemouth Voluntary Marine Reserve’s Scientific Study Group.

The aim of the Science Group is to focus current and future research carried out at the Reserve.

Georgia Conolly, National Trust for Scotland Marine Ranger for the VMR said: “It is essential to monitor our marine wildlife.

“Only by gaining a better understanding of what’s out there and how it changes over the years can we manage it effectively.”

Georgia continued: “The meeting was a huge success with lots of exciting ideas for future work discussed. It was a great opportunity for different organisations to link up and explore how we can work closely together to help protect Berwickshire’s special coastline and marine wildlife”.
