STARTING UP

It was founded in June 1921 as servicemen left the army after serving in the First World War.

NAME CHANGE

It became the Royal British Legion Scotland in 1950. There are now 200 branches across Scotland.

FALLING NUMBERS

Membership fell from 75,000 to 47,00 between 1995 and 2010.
