Rotary walk raises funds for kids and heroes

It’s been a busy time for the Rotarians at Eyemouth and District Rotary. Friday saw them taking part in a car treasure hunt around Eyemouth to raise funds for their Young Citizen of the year award and Drew Dougal fund which helps support the clubs youth activities.

Saturday saw the Rotarians, the ladies from Inner Wheel and friends take part in Rotary Global history as District 1020 organised a walk to get as many Rotary clubs walking to other clubs to raise funds for Cash for Kids and Calls for Heroes. With the sad events of the last week, Calls for Heroes was close to many.

Eyemouth walked from Dowlaw to Cockburnspath where they meet with the Rotary clubs of Dunbar, Duns and Haddington for food and fellowship. It was a real family occasion as the Haddington club had acted as the mother club to Dunbar Rotary who acted as the mother club to Eyemouth who acted as the mother club to Duns.

July sees Eyemouth Rotary sending two candidates to the Rotary Young Leader camp for a week long course involving outward bound activities and learning about citizenship.
