Reston Young Farmers Club recently handed over £500 to the Fire Fighters Charity.

The money was the profits made at their Barn Dance which they organised at Westruther Hall back in November last year.

The club is holding a new members night on Wednesday, April 20, in Whitsome Village Hall starting at 7.30pm.

The night will consist of some ice breaker and team building games.

It will be a great chance for potential new members to get an insight as to the kind of events the Reston Young Farmers Club holds throughout the year as well as meeting current members.

Everyone is welcome, whether they have an agricultural background or not.

The young farmers motto is “Not just for those who wear wellies” and there are a number activities held throughout the year ranging from farm visits, sports, dances and stockjudging competitions to name just a few.

New members are always welcome so if you are free please come along! Membership is open to anyone between 14 and 30 years of age.
