A BERWICKSHIRE dog charity has issued a huge thank you to three volunteers who have been supporting them for more than two years.
Brian Keay, Suzanne Dalrymple and Kevin Blair have been visiting the Borders Retired Greyhound Trust kennels at Reston every Thursday from Berwick’s Northstar Centre.
The Retired Greyhound Trust finds homes for greyhounds when they retire from their racing careers.
Sonia Graham, who runs the Borders branch, said: “Suzanne, Brian and Kevin have been fantastic. They never like to miss a day and they love it. They walk and play with the dogs, they groom the dogs, feed them and sort their beds.
“They are a huge help here at the kennels and we are very lucky to have them providing such great support every week.
“It is people like Susan, Brian, and Kevin who allow us to keep going as a charity. Without the marvellous support of our volunteers we would not be able to look after our dogs until we find them loving new homes.”
Sonia added: “We currently have more than 30 dogs who are looking for new homes and would appeal to anyone who is considering a dog as a pet to consider a greyhound. Greyhounds all have very different personalities and we can find the right dog for the right family or owner – whether they are elderly and looking for a companion, or a family with children and other pets.
“We have greyhounds suitable for every home.”
