The weather might have been against them, but that didn’t stop Berwickshire communities joining in the Queen’s official 90th birthday celebrations at the weekend.

A service of thanks in Duns Parish Church on Sunday morning was followed by Duns Rotary Club’s street party in the town’s Market Square, which went ahead as planned. The children’s sports were transferred to the Volunteer Hall because of the weather, though, but spirits were high throughout the day.

Eyemouth Primary School went all out royal on Friday for its own street party.

Once again, the rain was a major feature of the occasion, but a visit from the local fire brigade, complete with fire engine, plus party games and foodcreated a celebratory atmosphere enjoyed by all.
