Police are asking members of the public to report sightings of two men in connection with a scam involving asking for change in Borders shops.

On the morning of July 24 two men attended shops in Lauder requesting change.

Police Scotland said: “Very often these incidents result in criminals gaining financially either through handing over fake notes or through the confusion of multiple requests for different denominations of change.

“It is believed the men are travelling in a Silver Volkswagen with a registration similar to R267VRK. The vehicle is believed to be travelling south on the A68. Both males are Asian, the first male is described as stocky build, short, with a moustache and wearing a leather jacket. The second man was wearing a bomber jacket.”

Members of the public with information should contact Police Scotland on 101.
