A shortage of carers in the Berwickshire area has prompted the council and charity Encompas to organise in information event in Duns to encourage more people into the sector.
The event, on Tuesday, April 19, 2-3pm in the Volunteer Hall, Duns, will appeal to anyone who is interested or already works as a support worker, buddy, carer, companion, driver or helper - anyone who is employed by an individual to support them to have an independent life at home.
It will also raise awareness of Self-directed Support, including direct payments.
Manager of Encompass, Fiona Hughes, explained: “There is a great need for caring people to support individuals in the community. There is a real lack of care providers in the Borders and an increase in the demand for care and support.
