Police award deadline

There are only a few days left to nominate community police officers and staff you believe should be recognised as exceptional by Lothian and Borders Police.

The nominations for the Community Policing Award will close at midnight on Monday, March 19 and, while there has been a good initial response throughout the region, there is still time to put others forward.

The awards are designed to offer local communities the chance to highlight an officer or a community team who they believe goes above and beyond the call of duty.

The police are appealing for members of the public to come forward and let them know about those who show continued dedication to their communities through worthwhile initiatives, partnership working, and outstanding service.

All community policing teams, community officers, and special constables throughout Lothian and Borders are eligible for the award.

The winner will be announced on April 25 at the annual Force Excellence Awards. Nominations for the award can be made online at www.lbp.police.uk, or by contacting 0131 311 3948.
