Borders Sport and Leisure has announced former MP Peter Duncan, as the new chairman of its board.
A sports enthusiast with particular interests in rugby and equestrianism, Peter has held senior management positions in a number of businesses, and was MP for Galloway and Upper Nithsdale between 2001 and 2005. He lives near Earlston and runs the Edinburgh based communications consultancy which he founded in 2012.
Peter said: “Sport and activity play a daily role in improving people’s lives and I am a looking forward to playing my part in ensuring the continuing success of Borders Sport and Leisure and in helping to shape the development of the services it provides.”
Peter succeeds David Ferguson who served as chairman from 2013- 2014. Graeme Capper remains as vice-chairman.
