Outdoor games are child’s play

PARENTS and families are being invited in to Coldstream Primary School next week to join pupils in a range of outdoor activities.

The fun started this week when grandparents went in to talk to children about the games and outdoor fun they enjoyed in the ‘old days’.

All the events are part of Family Learning Week which has now been run for three successive years in Coldstream.

Adult learning worker Catherine Hadshar said: “Family Learning Week has become a tradition for us now; it gives parents a chance to come and join in with learning activities and see their child in a school setting. This year we have invited Coldstream Playgroup and the After School Club to be part of it all and showcase some of their excellent outdoor play.

“All we need now is some decent weather - I’m hoping everyone will wrap up warm!”

The theme for the week is ‘Active and Outdoors’ with ideas about outdoor facilities for play and learning in Coldstream and across the Borders.
