Outdoor centre plans on display

A PUBLIC consultation about a new outdoor education centre near Dunbar has attracted a steady stream of visitors.

The display at Hallhill Healthy Living Centre highlighted Foxlake Adventure’s major plan for a site at Hedderwick Hill.

The attraction will feature wake boarding on a purpose made body of water, high ropes activity courses, mountain biking, bouldering and other associated activities suitable for all ages and abilities.

These will be centred around a purpose built hub building with cafe, changing facilities, hire shop, indoor activity rooms, storage facilities, meeting, conference and educational rooms.

Duncan Barbour, one of the partners behind FoxLake, said: “This marked the start of our public consultation process with the people of Dunbar and we hope to take our information boards across the county as we are keen to gain views and ideas from people of all ages particularly teenagers who can help us shape the right facilities for them to use on a regular basis.

“Everyone was extremely positive and excited about the development and thought this was something that would attract people to Dunbar and give East Lothian a new attraction focusing on outdoor sports activities building upon East Lothian’s recent surge as a surfing venue and attracting outdoor sports enthusiasts from a wide area.”
