Community groups in the Borders who haven’t yet entered the environment competition ‘A Grand Green Idea’ are reminded that the deadline in Sunday, October 5.
A partnership between WWF Scotland and People’s Postcode Lottery, ‘A Grand Green Idea’ challenges community groups and schools to come up with ideas to benefit their local environment.
This year’s competition has two categories: Climate & Energy, which could include the final piece of funding for a community wind turbine to insulate a Scout hut; and Wildlife & Nature, ranging from clearing ponds from a local stream, to creating an insect habitat like a ‘bee hotel’.
Finalists will receive £1,000 to bring their idea to life and the winner will get an additional £1,000. For more information, visitwww.wwfscotland.org.uk/grandgreenidea
