The keys to the brand new, purpose built health centre in Lauder were handed over to the Chairman of NHS Borders, John Raine, on Friday by Jo Elliot, chairman of Hub South East Scotland, representing the project partners.

Located on Crofts Road in Lauder, the new centre replaces the previous facilities in the Factors Park and Memorial Medical Centres.

The new health centre will provide a purpose built facility suitable for modern health care and will allow expansion and development of local health services in the years to come.

A formal official opening is planned for later in the year, but to celebrate the handover and forthcoming opening of the practice there were two open sessions on Friday, hosted by the practice staff, to give members of the community an opportunity to look around their new health centre.
