BORDERS MP Michael Moore is conducting a residents’ survey of the Borders this summer to hear people’s views on the key issues facing the area.
The survey covers issues such as jobs, housing, broadband and mobile phone coverage, transport and policing.
Commenting, Mr Moore said: “This survey will inform and assist in my work to fight for a better deal for Borderers so I want to encourage as many people as possible to take part.
“On jobs, I want to know what people think are the main barriers to work in the region and on housing, I want to know local people’s key concerns.
“Through the Borders Digital Forum I have held over a number of years, the lack of broadband and mobile phone coverage for Borderers has been raised as a daily frustration for families and businesses. This survey also offers people an opportunity to outline the service - or lack of it – that they receive. Transport is another vitally important issue for Borderers, whether road, bus or train services, and through the survey I want to see what improvements to local transport services people would like to see.”
