Man denies Eyemouth masked robbery

AN Edinburgh man accused of a masked jewellery robbery in Eyemouth, will stand trial by jury at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on October 8.

Twenty-seven-year-old David Scott of Gracemount Drive, Edinburgh, appeared on indictment from custody at Selkirk Sheriff Court on Monday, and denied, while acting with others, assaulting three people, brandishing a hammer, and robbing them of jewellery at Chapel Antiques, High Street, Eyemouth, on July 22 last year.

He also denies assaulting a 76-year-old woman at Church Street, Eyemouth and demanding her car keys, and assaulting another woman with intent to steal her car.

Scott further denies, assaulting two people at Victoria Road, Eyemouth, demanding that the driver get out of the car with intent to steal it.

He was released on bail, to appear at a further first diet on September 21.
