A former steward/gamekeeper’s cottage, built in the 1800s and which has stood derelict for many years, is to be extended and turned into a family home after members of Scottish Borders Council’s review body overturned the decision of a council planning officer to refuse planning permission for the changes.

Planning was originally refused for the cottage at Prenderguest Farm, between Ayton and Eyemouth, on the grounds that the design of the extension was unsympathetic.
