Berwickshire’s Lord Lieutenant Major Alexander Trotter was presented with the Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (CVO) at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace after being awarded the honour in the Queen Birthday Honours List in June this year.

The Royal Victorian Order recognises distinguished personal service to the order’s sovereign, the reigning monarch of the Commonwealth realms. As Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant for the area of Berwickshire Major Trotter is responsible for: arranging visits by members of the Royal family; escorting Royal visitors; representing the Queen by presenting honours medals and award; and liaising with the armed service and their associated cadet forces.
