A sea surge caused Eyemouth harbour to flood this afternoon, the worst in 105 years according to many, with police and fire crews quickly in attendance.
The Bantry was closed to the public as winds strengthened and waves crashed over the harbour wall.
The harbour road itself had already started to take in water from the sea as water levels rose and light snow flakes began to fall.
But just a few hours later the situation escalated and Harbour Road resembled something of a swimming pool.
Eddie Bryce, landlord of The Contented Sole spoke to ‘The Berwickshire’ from the roof of his pub and told us he’d received a warning earlier on in the day to expect water levels to rise dramatically.
Twelve of his customers were forced to stay inside, including a couple from Cockburnspath who missed their last bus home.
There is expected to be a further surge in water at around 4am with another high tide.
