The charities of the three armed forces are calling upon Borders schools to sign up to ‘Red, White and Blue Day 2013’, a campaign to raise awareness about the difficulties faced by service children and families.
Scheduled for Friday, October 11, RWB13 is an opportunity for schoolchildren to donate £1 each in order to wear the British colours of red, white and blue, and for schools to run activities to further pupils’ understanding of what it means to be the child of a serving member of the British Armed Forces.
RWB13 is an annual national campaign run by the three official Service charities and supported by the three Services themselves. It will highlight the difficulties and instability faced by the children who are left behind when one, or both, parents serving in the Forces is on operations or based abroad.
