THERE’S a team of new faces organising this year’s Dunbar Civic Week from June 14-23 and there are more people joining them all the time.

The team are rejuvenating the annual celebrations and the bright, lively logo sets the tone for what is to come.

Eden Blair who came up with the concept for the logo explained: “The idea came from Dunbar’s nickname, Sunny Dunny, and a beautiful quote I found from John Muir, ‘The sun shines not on us, but within us’.” A local graphic designer, Sam Miller, generously donated her time to bring the concept to life.

Civic Week co-ordinator, Sue Anderson, said: “Civic Week is about celebrating our community – our history, our talents, our people and I love the way the John Muir quote gets you thinking about the potential within all of us to make our community the best it can be.”

The team are busy fundraising and working with local groups, businesses and members of the community to put on an exciting programme full of varied events.
