Scottish Government consultation on the future of the nation’s seas reaches Eyemouth next week.
A free drop-in event, ‘Planning for Scotland’s Seas’ will be held on Wednesday September 11 at the Fishermen’s Mission, Harbour Road, between 1pm and 8pm. Run by the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC), the event gives the public a chance to find out more about the possible Marine Protected Areas proposed locally and nationally.
Thirty-three sites around the Scottish coast, including the Firth of Forth Banks Complex, 15 nautical miles offshore, are being considered.
As well as information about the consultation, short videos, displays and leaflets will be available, and marine experts will be on hand to chat to people and answer questions.
