Dipping into the New Year

Dunbar Loony Dook, East Beach, January 1st 2014

Dunbar Loony Dook, East Beach, January 1st 2014

The New Year was marked in Dunbar with the now traditional ‘Dunbar Dip’ at the town’s East Beach.

The dip was started by local man Tom Waugh who sadly died in 2012 but the event, in aid of Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland continues.

At Coldingham the now traditional Loony Dook attracted plenty of brave and crazy volunteers.

In Duns the Berwickshire Hunt held their traditional New Year’s Day meet in the town’s Market Square and a good number of supporters turned out.
