The fourth Night Birds charity dinner held in Coldstream at Halloween 2013, raised £5678.90.

This brings the total amount raised by the four charity events to a massive £23,171.17.

Charities to have benefited include: Macmillan (Coldstream Branch); Cancer Support Cars; Macmillan Breast Cancer Support at Borders General Hospital; the Antony Nolan Trust; and Prostate Cancer Support Group at Borders General Hospital.

The idea for the ladies-only dinners came from a similar event - the Booby Birds dinner -held in Coldstream Community Centre by an Edinburgh based group who raised money for Breast Cancer Support.

The bird theme was continued by the Coldstream committee for their Spring Chicken, Game Birds, Song Birds and Night Birds dinners where Ex-Coldstreamers were the waiters and husbands and partners the wine waiters.

Pictured above are committee members and charity representatives - Linda Holmes, Sally Campbell, Lady Caroline Douglas Home (Macmillan Cancer Support for the Borders), Carole Anderson, Susan Tait and Karen McKinley.
