Borders Pet Rescue is celebrating the opening of its new shop in Duns following the success of its shop in Galashiels.

Borders Pet Rescue, which was formerly known as Borders Animal Welfare Association, has been rescuing and re-homing animals for 30 years now and there is as much need for its services as ever, with animals always waiting to come in.

It seems that the economic situation is taking its toll on animals as well as people.

The shop is open from 9am till 4.30pm and can be found at the top of Castle Street in Duns town centre.

The new premises offer a wide range of goods, including ladies clothes, gifts and house wares.

The shop is run by a team of volunteers lead by Sue Lorden under the guidance of Pat Jones who is one of the charity’s trustees.
