Cockburnspath Primary School’s P7 class have been discovering, exploring, conserving and sharing their local woods and Dunglass beach over the last two terms and have now achieved their John Muir Award.
The project has seen them carrying out various environmental activities and really exploring what lives around them.
During their work for the award, the class have carried out a litter clear up and created a French drain on one of the paths down to Dunglass beach to improve drainage and to do something for wild places.
The project has been a huge success and enabled the children to really explore their local environment while having lots of fun.
The class shared all that they had learnt to family and friends at school in a superb presentation and were presented with their John Muir Discovery Award certificates to mark the completion of their Award.
The class has also been invited to share their journey at the John Muir Award Festival in partnership with East Lothian Rangers in Dunbar.
