Thousands of spectators enjoyed the sunshine and sparkling motoring exhibits at the Borders Vintage Automobile Club’s Historic Motoring Extravaganza at Thirlestane Castle on Sunday.
With a record entry of over 1000 vehicles, there was something to see for everyone. There were special displays celebrating the American classic car including the iconic Ford Mustang and the muscle power Corvette models which paraded around the arena to the accompaniment of some American Cheerleaders.
There was also a large contingent of M.G cars celebrating 90 years of the famous octagonal badge, an exciting stunt plane display and the Sporting Bears who were undertaking dream rides in a wide range of exotic cars with the proceeds going to Borders children’s charities.
Chairman BVAC, Fred Magill said: “The event was one of the most successful yet for the club and we thank all the entrants, sponsors and the public who helped make the event one of the top ten rallies in the country.”
Mrs Sarah Maitland-Carew presented the trophies.
