Turbine near Hume Castle

Hume Castle

Hume Castle

Historic Scotland has submitted an objection to a planning application for a 74m wind turbine at Whitehill, near Mellerstain.

Their objections are based on “the potential for significant adverse effects on the setting of two scheduled monuments and one category A listed building” - Hareheugh Craigs and Hume Castle. Comments submitted are split between support for, and objecting to, the application.
