Crafty people are being invited to design and make their very own piece of furniture in one of two outdoor woodland workshops.
Dunbar Community Woodland Group (DCWG) is inviting people to try crafting a stool out of greenwood in the workshops, run by Treeditions, which take place over the weekends of February 1/2 and 14/16 in Lochend Woods, Dunbar.
Isobel Knox of DCWG said: “It’s an opportunity for people to learn or improve their woodworking skills, using traditional tools and methods, as well as enjoy time in the woods, de-stress and connect with nature. The taster sessions last year were very popular so we thought we’d offer people the chance to design and make their own stool out of the trees that grow here in Dunbar – it’s a very satisfying as well as sustainable way to make your own furniture out of locally grown materials!”
Sessions will run from 10am till 4pm on both days. The cost is £40 and includes materials, tools and tuition - and lunch, cooked on the fire and in the clay oven. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. To book, contact Isobel Knox on 01368 863239, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
