Norovirus still a problem at BGH

Borders General Hospital

Borders General Hospital

Norovirus is still making its presence felt at Borders General Hospital with two wards affected.

One bay each in Wards 10 and 12 closed due to the presence of the winter vomiting pub but ward 9 is now fully re-opened.

The situation continues to be managed by NHS Borders Infection Control Team with support from frontline colleagues.

As a precautionary measure visiting continues to be discouraged at this time and the general advice is to stay away from the hospital if you or anyone in your family has experienced symptoms of diarrhoea and/or vomiting in the past 48 hours. This advice applies especially to children.

We continue to ask friends and family of patients in all wards to limit their visits to no more than two people at any one time.

Outpatient appointments are unaffected.
