Latest electric car charger

An electric car charging unit is to be installed at Henderson Park, Coldstream, using funding from Transport Scotland.

Scottish Borders Council officers looked at a number of sites in the town but concluded that the space in the Henderson Park car park nearest the Bank of Scotland building was going to be the quickest and cheapest option because of its proximity to existing electricity supplies.

Coldstream & District Community Council are concerned about the loss of a general parking space in the car park - the space with the electric charger will be a designated parking spot for electric cars - but reluctantly accepted that it was the best option available given the time and financial constraints.

Scottish Borders Council received £120,000 from Transport Scotland to install the charging points at Eyemouth and Hawick and further funding will allow the charging points at Peebles and Newtown St Boswells to be upgraded.
