The Rotary Club of Duns held the first round of their annual Primary School Quiz last week at Duns Primary School with teams from Coldstream, Greenlaw, Swinton and Duns Primary Schools participating.

The quiz is an annual competition by Rotary District 1020 which covers most of Southern Scotland and the central belt excluding Glasgow. The questions are the same for all participating pupils throughout the District. The Quiz consisted of eight rounds with four questions in each. The categories for the rounds were: Language and Literacy, Maths and Numeracy, Health and Well Being, Expressive Arts, Science, Technology, Social Studies and RME and Pot Luck.

The eventual winners were Duns Primary who also won the event last year and they will go forward to the next round. Duns Rotary president Eric Bridgewater is pictured above presenting the winners with their trophy and a £50 book token. Thanks go to all the schools for their participation and to Duns Primary School for hosting the event.
